I Bow Before You

I bow before you Jesus my Bible in my hand.
Secure in my salvation upon your word I stand.
But, there are so many things that I don’t understand.
What can I do to serve you Lord I’m just a mortal man?

I think of Paul and Silas in that Roman prison cell.
Singing praises to you Lord that shook the gates of hell.
Where do you find that kind of faith, I just don’t understand?
I could never be so strong I’m just a mortal man.

I see in the Holy Scripture how you spent your final day.
With your disciples in the garden before you went away.
You said that I must leave you to the Father I must go.
But, I will not leave you orphaned in this battle here below.
In the upper room you breathed your Spirit into each of them.
But, how could I receive Him Lord, I’m just a mortal man?

Now I read that if I ask in faith you’ll do these things for me.
It will glorify you Father and I will be set free.
I raise my hands up to you Lord, your Holy name I praise.
Fill me with your Spirit as a vessel made of clay.
Now I speak a language unto you that no man understands.
These mysteries spoken through the Spirit not for mortal man.

When my time on earth is over and to glory I’m called home.
As I come into your presence and bow before the throne.
I know I will discover that I am not alone.
There will be the twelve disciples the Angels close at hand,
Timothy and Silas beside them there will stand.
Then the great Apostle Paul will reach take my hand.
And say welcome home my friend, we were all just mortal man.
